Tryouts are an opportunity for players to be evaluated in a positive, competitive environment. Our coaching staff is focused on identifying players who not only demonstrate technical skill and tactical awareness, but also strong character, effort, and a growth mindset. We're not just building teams—we're building a club culture centered on development, respect, and love for the game.
Before TRYOUTS
Early Check-In
We’ve streamlined the check-in process this year and will offer early check-in to avoid delays checking in the day of tryouts. Please make sure you’ve registered in advance and drop by during any of the times below to pick up your player's tryout bib.
Remaining Early Check-in Options:
- Tuesday, April 28th @ Seminole Soccer Complex Office from 4pm-8pm
- Wednesday, April 29th @ Seminole Soccer Complex Office from 4pm-8pm
Find information on Seminole Soccer Complex and Trotters Park here.
TRYOUT DAY
Please arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for check-in and warm-up. All players must be pre-registered through PlayMetrics. Park at an angle along the field perimeter to maximize space, with overflow parking available inside the loop and on the grass. For smoother traffic flow, exit the complex with a right turn only.
All Players will report to Tryout Head Quarters (HQ) when they arrive to the complex.
Please proceed to the designated tent on the map.
What to Wear & Bring:

Tryout Format:
Sessions will include technical skill work, small-sided games, and full-field scrimmages to give coaches a well-rounded view of each player's ability and potential.

Evaluations will take place across all sessions. Placement decisions are made based on skill, potential, positional needs, and team balance.

AFTER TRYOUTS
Team Placement Communication:
Families will be notified shortly after tryouts conclude. Please ensure your contact details in PlayMetrics are up to date, as this is where communication will be sent out from.
Next Steps:
If your player is offered a spot, you’ll receive instructions on how to accept the offer, complete registration, and begin onboarding for the upcoming season.
Feedback:
Due to the volume of players, we’re unable to provide individual feedback immediately after tryouts. However, we encourage open dialogue with coaches throughout the year as part of the developmental process.
Commonly asked Question & Answers
Q: Who is eligible for our competitive program?
A: Our competitive program is open to all 2019 to 2008 Boys and Girls. We do encourage players to at least have one season playing organized soccer, at least recreational or competitive.
Q: Where are practices?
A: We have four main locations. Seminole Soccer Complex, Trotters Park, Boombah Sports Complex and Sylvan Lake Park. Training could be scheduled at any of the four locations. Locations and time changes are made due to daylight savings.
Q: When are practices?
A: Depending on the level of the team will determine the number of practices they have. Practices are held Monday - Friday from 5:00pm-9:00pm depending on the team.
Training schedules will be available 2-4 weeks prior to the Fall and Spring season.
- MLS & ECNL train 4 nights per week.
- NAL & ECNL-RL train 3-4 nights per week.
- Elite, Select and FAL train 2-3 nights per week.
- Pre MLS and Pre ECNL train 2-3 nights per week.
- Pre NAL and Pre Elite teams train 2-3 nights per week.
- Futures teams train 2-3 nights per week.
Q: How long is the season?
A: A competitive season runs from August through early-May. There are a handful of older higher level teams that will go past May for playoffs, but typically most teams will complete their season in late April/early May.
Q: What are the travel requirements?
A: MLS Next, NAL and ECNL-RL will travel through Florida for their league games on the weekends. ECNL Girls have games in the Southeast region that includes Florida, Alabama, Atlanta and South Carolina. U12 Pre MLS and Pre ECNL will travel throughout Florida. Elite teams, U11 Pre MLS and Pre ECNL and below, plus GCF teams have “local” travel (greater central Florida). These league games do not include tournaments. Teams can participate in 2-3 tournaments in the Fall and again in the Spring. These could include local events within Orlando that do not require hotel or travel, but plan on at least one tournament in the Fall and one in the Spring to require travel and a hotel. Most of these tournaments will be played in places like Jacksonville, Tampa, South Florida and Merritt Island/Vierra.
Q: What is the cost?
A: The player evaluation process is free.
If your child is selected and placed on a competitive team for the 2026–2027 season, you will receive a registration email following tryouts. Registration fees do not include uniforms or team fees. Families will have the option to pay in full or select a payment plan during registration. Find more information on the
club and team fees for the 26-27 season here.
Uniform costs are approximately $250-350 and include two practice uniforms with required game uniforms. With multiple practices each week, players may choose to purchase additional practice uniforms separately.
Please note: we are entering the first season of our 2-year uniform cycle. All players joining the competitive program for the 2026–2027 season will be required to order uniforms.
Club registration fees do not cover team fees. Team fees may include, but are not limited to: tournament and showcase entry fees, player travel expenses, coaching staff travel expenses (hotel, mileage, and per diem), and team equipment. Mileage reimbursement for coaches applies for any regular season game more than 35 miles (one way) from Seminole Soccer Complex.
Players are responsible for their share of all team fees, including fees for events they are unable to attend.
Your team manager will provide a detailed team budget closer to the start of the season.
Please note: both club registration fees and team fees must be kept current for your player to remain in good standing and eligible to play.
Q:
What are the next steps?
A: Once your child accepts, then the registration progress begins. You will get an email from the club to complete the registration process and make your payment. You will also receive an email regarding uniform ordering, jersey number assignment and the steps to complete the age verification process.
- Pre-season training starts at the end of July
